Svetlana Kuznetsova has pulled out of Russia's Fed Cup semi-final with the United States.
The world number five, who has recovered from a shoulder injury, plans to skip the 24-25 April tie and target instead the WTA tournament in Stuttgart which starts on 26 April.
'I will have to miss the semi-final with the United States because my personal schedule this year is too tight,’ Kuznetsova confirmed.
She added: ‘It's unreal to go to Stuttgart directly from the Unites States.’
Kuznetsova has not played since crashing out of the Sony Ericsson Open after suffering a 6-3, 6-0 fourth round loss to former Wimbledon finalist Marion Bartoli of France in Miami last month.
Kuznetsova received on-court treatment for a nagging shoulder injury three times in the match.
