At 6ft 10in, it is not surprising Ivo Karlovic's biggest weapon is his serve, and he left Jo-Wilfried Tsonga waving his arms in frustration as the ninth seed succumbed to a 7-6 (7/5) 6-7 (5/7) 7-5 7-6 (7/5) defeat on Court One.
There was only one break of serve in a third-round match that featured 72 aces - 46 of which came from the racquet of Karlovic, taking his tournament tally to 102.
The 22nd seed was delighted with his power display, where his first-serve percentage was an astonishing 77% and he lost only 18 points on his own delivery.
'I was serving extremely well but also he was, there were a lot of aces,' Karlovic said.
'In this match, in the crucial moments, I was playing better and that's why I won.'
Karlovic is no stranger to tie-breaks and he believes his cool head is the secret of his success.
'It's mostly the nerves,' he said. 'Everybody gets a little bit tight in these situations and it's important to focus.'
Tsonga was clearly frustrated as any slight openings were swiftly snuffed out and he was left searching for answers after the match.
'He served well and that's it,' said the former Australian Open finalist. 'I didn't play. Sometimes you play against a guy like that.
'It's a mental battle. He can play a good point in the tie-break and the match turns, I didn't (play well) at these points.'
Karlovic could understand Tsonga's emotions.
'I was watching him a little bit,' said the 30-year-old.
'Of course (he was frustrated) because in the whole match he didn't have one break point, so of course he was not happy about that.'
Karlovic will be the underdog again in the fourth round when he faces seventh seed Fernando Verdasco, another big server.
The pair have met three times before, most recently in the final of the Nottingham Open last year when Karlovic triumphed in a deciding tie-break.
The Spaniard has gone on to bigger and better things since then, however, notably reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open and breaking into the top 10.
'Verdasco is a very good player,' said Karlovic. 'We played last year in Nottingham and it was a very difficult match.
'After that he was also playing well here so it's going to be a difficult match but with my serve I feel okay and hopefully I'm going to play as well (as today).'
And if it is his serve that is the talking point after that match as well, that will not bother Karlovic.
'I like it,' he added. 'If I can win with only one shot, I'm a genius!'
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic marched into the fourth round with an almost routine 6-4 6-4 6-4 victory over Mardy Fish on Centre Court.
Only a momentary lapse in the second set threatened to knock the Serbian off course, but he quickly recovered to set up a clash with Dudi Sela of Israel in the last 16.
