Radek Stepanek recovered from a slow start to defeat Mardy Fish for the SAP Open title.

The fourth seed from the Czech Republic, Stepanek dropped the first set to the fifth-seeded Fish before storming back to record a 3-6 6-4 6-2 triumph.

Stepanek ousted top seed Andy Roddick in the semi-finals, where he also dropped the first set, and became the first Czech player to win the event since Ivan Lendl in 1983.

The comeback gave Stepanek his fourth career title and second of the season. The 30-year-old won in Brisbane in January.
