America's Lindsay Davenport reached the final of the Cellular South Cup with a 6-0 6-3 triumph over New Zealand qualifier Marina Erakovic in Memphis.

Fourth seed Davenport will face fifth seed Olga Govortsova, after the Belorussian advanced by defeating third seed Shahar Peer of Israel 6-3 3-6 6-4.

Former world number one Davenport, playing in her first American tournament since the 2006 US Open, is seeking the 55th title of her career.

‘I felt really good about everything today,’ she said.

‘She started serving better in the end there, but to get through to the finals is just a great thing for me.’
