David Nalbandian and Jose Acasuso will go head-to-head in an all-Argentinian final at the Copa Telmex after both came through their semi-final clashes on Saturday.

Top seed Nalbandian dismantled number four seed Juan Ignacio Chela, 6-1, 6-2, while unseeded Jose Acasuso upset eighth-seeded Italian Filippo Volandri, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Cordoba native Nalbandian and Acasuso, a Buenos Aires resident, will likely draw a sizable crowd on Sunday when they meet in the championship match of $466,000 red clay event.

The 25-year-old Acasuso, who traditionally has enjoyed success here with four semi-final appearances and a runner-up effort in 2001, also defeated number three Carlos Moya and number six seed Igor Andreev en route to the final.

And despite dropping the first set, the world number 51 continued his dominance over Volandri, who has now lost all six of his meetings with Acasuso.

Nalbandian displayed some dominance of his own against Chela, dropping just nine points on serve and converting four of five break points during the 58-minute match.

The 26-year-old appears to be regaining the form that earned him a fifth straight top-10 finish last year.

Currently the world number 11, Nalbandian has posted a record of 13 wins and two defeats after the US Open in September, winning events in Madrid and Paris.

Nalbandian's October title run at Madrid was most impressive, as he beat second-ranked Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals, third-ranked Novak Djokovic in the semis and world number one Roger Federer in the final.

Two weeks later in Paris, Nalbandian dumped Federer out in the third round and went on to defeat Nadal in the final.

In line for his eighth career ATP title, Nalbandian has won his only previous meeting against Acasuso in 2005 at the hardcourt event in Miami.

One victory away from his fourth title and first since 2006 at Vina del Mar, Acasuso has claimed 119 of his 150 career wins - almost 80 percent - on clay.
