Lindsay Davenport advanced to the final of the Bell Challenge in Quebec on Saturday with a 6-2 6-7 (3-7) 6-3 victory over second-seeded Russian Vera Zvonareva.
Unseeded American Davenport, who took almost a year off due to pregnancy, is now poised to win her second title in three events since returning in September.
The 31-year-old, who won her 52nd career title in Bali on her 2007 debut, will face third seed Julia Vakulenko in Sunday's final.
Vakulenko beat Julie Ditty 6-1 4-6 7-5 in the last four.
In what will be her first WTA final, the 24-year-old Ukrainian has the unenviable task of trying to derail Davenport's storybook run.
Including a semi-final effort in Beijing, Davenport is 12-1 since returning and has won 25 of 29 sets. Along the way, she opened eyes with an upset of world number three Jelena Jankovic and has seen her world ranking soar from number 234 to 126.
A three-time grand slam winner and former world number one, Davenport's win over Zvonareva was her sixth in as many meetings.
