Amelie Mauresmo overcame a rowdy home crowd and Kim Clijsters to earn a diamond-studded reward.
The top seed and two-time defending champion, Mauresmo topped Clijsters, 6-4 7-6 in the Proximus Diamond Games final in Antwerp.
The three-peat of titles here earned Mauresmo a stunning diamond-studded tennis racquet that goes to any player who wins three times in a five-year span.
Mauresmo had failed in bids to defend two titles this year, falling in the fourth round of the Australian Open and in the semi-finals of the Open Gaz de France.
The win gave Mauresmo, who also beat Clijsters in last year's final, her 24th career title while spoiling the second seeded Belgian's final appearance here.
Clijsters, who won here in 2004 and was a finalist in 2003 and 2006, is retiring at the end of the season.
Clijsters to miss Roland Garros
Clijsters has ruled herself out of this year's French Open in a bid to end her career with a Wimbledon title.
She said: 'No I won't be playing the French Open. I have always suffered on clay and the time to prepare between Roland Garros and Wimbledon is very short.
'Wimbledon is my goal and so I want to give myself every chance there and will be getting in plenty of practice on grass before then.'
Belgian Clijsters plans to marry American basketball player Brian Lynch after her appearance in London before retiring at the end of the season.
Clijsters's only grand slam victory was at the 2005 US Open.
