Roger Federer clinched his third Masters Cup title in four years following a 6-0 6-3 6-4 demolition of eighth seed James Blake in Shanghai.

The Swiss world number one took just 96 minutes to defeat his American opponent, who had reached the final on his debut appearance at the season-ending tournament.

Federer's victory is his 92nd of the year - and 29th in succession - while the tournament win makes him the first-ever player to earn $8m prize money in a single season.
