Maria Sharapova is through to her sixth final of the season after defeating Katarina Srebotnik 7-6 6-2 at the Zurich Open.
The second seed will face Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova in Sunday's final after she upset third-seed Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia 6-4 6-2.
Sharapova, who has three titles to her name this season including the US Open, was erratic throughout but had enough in her game to see off a competent opponent.
Srebotnik played well from the baseline but lacked the power to get the better of the Russian, who dropped only two points on serve before breaking to love in the ninth game.
However, Sharapova failed to hold serve for the set, allowing the Slovenian to break to love for 5-5.
Srebotnik missed a set point at 6-5, Sharapova denying her with a fifth ace of the contest, and the Russian went on to win the tiebreak with ease.
Sharapova then secured an early break for a 2-0 lead in the second set and although Srebotnik hit back in the fifth game, the former world number one followed suit in the sixth before easing to victory.
