Martina Hingis gave another indication she means business on her comeback with a 7-6 (9/7) 6-2 win over sixth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova to set up a Qatar Open semi-final clash with top seed Amelie Mauresmo.
However, Hingis's credentials will be severely tested by the French Australian Open champion who eased past Italian Roberta Vinci 6-4 6-0 in an earlier quarter-final.
World number eight Nadia Petrova of Russia and Japan's Ai Sugiyama will meet in the other semi-final following victories over China's Li Na and Germany's Julia Schruff respectively.
