Russians dominated the women's draw on day five at the Australian Open with four progressing to the last 16.
Fourth seed Maria Sharapova was barely tested as she beat Croatian Jelena Kostanic, breaking in the second game and never looking back on her way to a 6-0 6-1 win.
Sixth seed Nadia Petrova also cruised past Italian Maria Elena Camerin, who only managed one winner in the entire match as she went down 6-1 6-2.
Fourteenth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova smashed 34 winners in her 6-3 6-1 win over Italian Mara Santangelo.
Kuznetsova raced into a 5-0 lead in the opening set before Santangelo broke back to 5-3 only to see the world number 11 finish off the match in under an hour.
The lowest ranked of the Russian quartet, Elena Vesnina, took on Ukrainian Olga Savchuk, neither of whom have ever played in a Grand Slam before, let alone competed for a place in the round of 16.
The pair, both ranked outside the top 100, committed over 100 unforced errors between them as Vesnina came from a set down to win 5-7 6-2 6-4.
The only Russian not to advance was 25th seed Maria Kirilenko, who fell to world number one Lindsay Davenport in three sets 6-4 4-6 6-2.
Meanwhile, eighth seed Justine Henin-Hardenne had no problems dispatching France's Virginie Razzano 6-4 6-1.
Henin-Hardenne will now meet Virginia Ruano Pascual, who also prevailed in straight sets, downing American Laura Granville 6-3 6-3.
