Arnold/Calleri keep Argentina alive in Davis Cup

Lucas Arnold and Agustin Calleri kept alive Argentina's Davis Cup hopes in Malaga with a tough 6-3, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over gritty Spaniards Alex Corretja and Albert Costa.

The South Americans had their backs to the wall after French Open champion Juan Carlos Ferrero and Carlos Moya had won Friday's two opening singles for Spain to lead 2-0. And against a strong pairing like Corretja and Costa, Arnold and Calleri had it all to do.

The Spaniards are aiming for a fourth ever appearance in the Davis Cup final after 2000 when they defeated Australia and in 1965 and 1967 when they lost to Australia on both occasions. Argentina have only once made the final in 1981 when they lost to the United States.

In Sunday's reverse singles Ferrero takes on Mariano Zabaleto and Moya plays Gaston Gaudio.
