Andy Roddick continued his march towards the Wimbledon final with a convincing 7-6 6-4 6-4 victory over Tommy Robredo of Spain.
Given his impressive form and the fact that he has yet to lose a match to Robredo, Roddick started the match as the favourite. However, the Spaniard was in no mood to roll over and took his opponent to a tiebreak in the first set, which Roddick eventually won 7/5.
The American proved to be too strong for Robredo after that and broke his serve midway through the second set after forcing only his second break point. The third set followed a similar pattern, with Roddick breaking to love to race into a 3-1 lead in the third set, and from that point on, he never looked back.
