Greg Rusedski insists he will not get carried away with thoughts of glory in the US Open after his gutsy win over home favourite Alex Kim. The British number two moved into the second round at Flushing Meadows with a 6-1, 4-6, 7-6 (7/1), 6-3 win over Kim. Five years ago the big-hitter hit the high-point of his career when he finished runner-up to Pat Rafter in New York and, after several seasons of disappointment and injury, Rusedski looks in good shape to make an impact on the hard-court tournament once again.
"I like this tournament. I always seem to play well here. It's a day at a time. It's trying to win seven matches here. It's trying to come out every day and find a way to win, no matter how you're playing, that's the key to win a slam, and not getting ahead of yourself. One day at a time, one match at a time, just playing the best tennis you can," said Rusedski.
