Clarke pulls out of Irish Championships

There was major disappointment on day two of the Danone Irish Tennis Close Championships in Donnybrook when number one seed Peter Clarke had to pull out with a groin strain just six minutes into his warm-up. Clarke, who is due to compete for Ireland in their crucial Davis Cup match against Slovenia, was replaced by fellow international Stephen Nugent, who was subsequently beaten by 18-year-old Colin O'Brien 3-6 7-6 7-6.
