Hewitt cruises into fourth round

Australia's world number one Lleyton Hewitt survived the slaughter of the seeds at Wimbledon, dispatching Austrian Julian Knowle with merciless efficiency 6-2 6-1 6-3 in the third round today. In the first set, Hewitt's speed across the court was spectacular and his concentration razor-sharp. He dropped just two points on his own serve and twice broke Knowle's serve. Hewitt was even more ruthless in the second set. He did not drop a single point on his serve and ran rings round Knowle, ranked 94 places below him.

The feisty Australian coasted through the third set in equally impressive form and now faces Russian Mikhail Youzhny for a place in the semi-finals.
