Henman into fourth round

Britain's fourth seed Tim Henman beat South Africa's Wayne Ferreira 7-6 (8/6), 3-6, 7-6 (10/8), 6-1 in three hours and 29 minutes in the third round at Wimbledon today. The Briton did just enough to keep alive his dreams at the tournament he holds most dear, but was far from impressive against the 30-year-old South African on Centre Court.

"It was so close it could have gone either way ... I was down in both tie-breaks but I just kept fighting and I can take a lot of satisfaction from that," Henman said afterwards.

Henman now takes on Swiss player Michel Kratochvil for a place in the quarter-finals. Fourth-seeded Henman and top seed Lleyton Hewitt are the only top 10 seeds remaining in the draw and are scheduled to meet in the semi-finals.
