American Serena Williams made a fine start to Wimbledon by beaten Evie Dominikovic 6-1, 6-1 in the first round. The French Open champion stormed to success with Dominikovic finding no answer to the American's serve and searing groundstrokes. Williams only lap of concentration came in the sixth game of the second set when Dominikovic earned a break point against her serve.
But the second seed powered back with two unreturnable forehands, then broke the Australian's serve with another skidding forehand return to take the match. She only lost just two games as she completed the victory in commanding fashion.
Serena Williams beat Evie Dominikovic - 6-1, 6-1.
