Former Wimbledon champion Martina Hingis today gave the All-England Club official notification that she will miss this year's championships because of injury.
The Swiss star, who won the women's singles title in 1997, also missed the French Open because of a foot injury. Wimbledon referee Alan Mills said: "We have received official notification that Martina Hingis is withdrawing from Wimbledon due to her left foot injury and subsequent surgery."
