Johansson triumphs over fellow Swede

Sweden's Thomas Johansson has ended the Australian Open hopes of compatriot Jonas Bjorkman with a four set victory in Melbourne this morning. Bjorkman failed to repeat the heroics that saw him record an amazing win over British number one Tim Henman in the fourth round and fell 6-0 2-6 6-3 6-4 in the quarter-final. Johansson, who becomes the first man into the semi-finals where he will meet either Jiri Novak of the Czech Republic or Austria's Stefan Koubek, triumphed in a nervy 48-minute final set after breaking Bjorkman to take a 5-4 lead before serving out the match.
