Ireland lose out to Danes in doubles match

Ireland are now 2-1 down to Davis Cup opponents Denmark after today's doubles match which saw John Doran and Owen Casey lose in a five-set thriller. The Irish pair began well against Jonathan Printzlau and Kristian Pless taking the opening set 6-2. However, the Danes broke Casey's serve in the final game of the second set to take it 7-5 and broke his serve again in the third set to take that 6-3.

However, the Irish fought back in the fourth set and took it with a 7-1 tie-break to bring the match to the deciding set. But the previous set took too much out of the Irish players and they went down 6-1 to give Denmark at 2-1 lead going into tomorrow's singles matches.

Tomorrow afternoon, Doran takes on Pless while Peter Clarke will play Printzlau. Both those matches get underway at 2pm.
