Ireland are level with opponents Denmark after the opening day of play in their Davis Cup tie at Riverview. John Doran, who replaced the injured Scott Barron was the first Irish man on court and he enjoyed a 6-1 7-6 6-7 6-4 victory over Jonathan Printzlau. However, in the second singles match, Peter Clarke was beaten in straight sets 6-4 6-4 6-4 by Christian Pless. Play resumes tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.
