Boris Becker's former coach Bob Brett has emerged as the front runner to take over the guidance of Tim Henman. Henman split with his long-time advisor David Felgate last week and former Davis Cup coach John Lloyd believes Brett would be an ideal replacement.
Lloyd reached the US Open quarter-finals under Brett and he told The Mail on Sunday: “Deep down Tim is ruthless and ambitious. Bob's what he needs, a no-nonsense coach who's been there. He's smart on technical aspects, good on strategy and expert in conditioning.”
Brett, who steered Becker to Wimbledon, US Open and Australian Open glory, added: “I can't guess what Tim wants from a coach, but I'd be happy to exchange philosophies with him.” (PA)
