Greg Rusedski breezed into the second round of the Masters Series Ericsson Open in Miami with a straight-sets victory over Nicolas Massu. The British left-hander took the first set 6-4 in 43 minutes and then threatened to whitewash his Chilean opponent in the second by winning the first five games.
Massu stopped the rot in the sixth game by holding his serve but Rusedski then held his own service game to take the set 6-1 in just 19 minutes. Rusedski's serve was again dominant with a 91% success rate on his first service compared to Massu's 59%, with the British player winning the aces count 5-2.
Next in line for Rusedski will be Germany's David Prinosil, who received a bye in the first round.
