Russian star Anna Kournikova will contest the Open Gaz de France WTA Tour event in Paris from February 5-11, tournament organisers announced today. Kournikova is ranked ninth in the world but is still seeking her first tournament title.
Other players entered for the 28-draw event include defending champion Nathalie Tauziat of France, former US Open champion Serena Williams of the United States and Sydney Olympic Games silver medallist Elena Dementieva of Russia.
The tournament offers $565,000 in prizemoney.
