Swede Magnus Larsson has been forced to withdraw from Wimbledon with an injured right knee. His place in the event, which starts on Monday, will be taken by Canada's Sebastien Lareau.
Meanwhile, in the warm-up to Wimbledon France's Sebastien Grosjean - the one remaining seed at the Nottingham Open - advanced to the semi-finals today. Play was suspended last night with Grosjean level with South's Africa's Wayne Ferreira at 6-6 and 3-3 in the tie-break. But the number three seed got quickly into his stride as the wind swirled around the centre court to take the remaining four points and win the first set 7-6.
The experienced Ferreira seemed to be at odds with the conditions and himself. He was given a verbal warning for smashing the ball out of the court when Grosjean broke his serve in the second game of the second set. Ferreira composed himself and recovered briefly, but his opponent made fewer errors and took the second set 6-3 for the match.
In the other delayed quarter-final, Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden took the first set 7-5 against Australia's Richard Fromberg.
