Tennis: Chilean star out of Wimbledon

Former world number one Marcelo Rios has withdrawn from Wimbledon with a leg injury. The 24-year-old Chilean, who reached the fourth round in 1997, also missed last year's All England Championships.

He is currently ranked 39 in the world and is more at home on clay rather than the grass of Wimbledon. In Rios' two other appearances at Wimbledon - in 1995 and 1998 - he was knocked out in the first round. He had been due to face Hicham Arazi of Morocco in the opening round.
