Bertram Allen made his Olympic debut in Tokyo with Pacino Amiro a.k.a 'Buddy' and qualified for the individual final where the pair finished 15th with 8 faults and a time of 84:64.
Allen was the youngest ever winner of a Global Champions Grand Prix in 2015 and, with Romanov, took bronze at the World Cup final that year, climbing to fifth in the FEI world rankings. He reproduced this quality once again in 2023 at the Global Champions Tour Super Grand Prix play-offs in Prague where he just missed bronze by fractions of a second in the jump-off.
Allen was a member of Ireland’s historic team gold at the 2017 Europeans where he jumped a double clear to help Ireland win the final, pre-Olympic five-star Nations Cup in Aachen on 4 July.
He has been based in Hunxe in Germany since 2011 where, assisted by sister April and brother Harry, he runs Ballywalter Stables.
