Ben Healy grew up near Birmingham and qualifies for Ireland through his Cork grandparents. Healy is fast emerging as one of the most exciting young riders in the world. In 2019 he became the youngest ever winner of a stage at the Tour de l'Avenir, and in 2021 won a stage of the 'Baby Giro'.
The two-time Irish champion joined World Tour team EF Education three years ago and 2023 was his breakout year. He won the GP Industria & Artigianato, a stage at Coppi e Bartali and was second to Tadej Pogačar, at the Amstel Gold Race. Then came his sensational 50km breakaway to win a stage of the Giro d’Italia.
In 2024 he has won the final stage of the Tour of Slovenia before making his Tour de France debut, where he was ninth on stage seven and, two days later, led out the final sprint to finish fifth on stage nine. He finished 27th in general classification at this year's Tour de France.
