Alice Sharpe is a two-time national road racing champion. Sharpe competed in the Commonwealth Games for Northern Ireland in 2022, where she finished fifth in the scratch race.

The Munich-born athlete qualifies for Ireland via her father Steve who lives in Belfast. She competed in triathlon until she switched to cycling while at Manchester Metropolitan University. She joined Cycling Ireland's elite ranks in 2018 and has been part of the team pursuit squad that has knocked almost six seconds off the Irish record since 2021. Sharpe and Lara Gillespie just missed the podium in the Madison at the Ghent International at the end of last June.

The women's team pursuit is the first time a squad have qualified in the event for Ireland. They qualified after ranking sixth at the end of the qualification period in April. The team opened their season finishing fourth in the UEC European Track Championships in January and claimed silver in the UCI Nations Cup in Hong Kong in March.
