Ben Walker, from Glenageary, plays for Belgian side Braxgata HC and has been there since 2021. Walker made his debut in 2017 and has racked up 92 international caps since then. Walker previously played for Three Rock Rovers before making the move to the continent.
A regular goalscorer since 2019 he was part of the Irish squad who went to Valencia for the final Olympic qualifier but a hamstring injury forced him to sit it out the tournament.
The team clinched qualification in Valencia in January this year when they defeated Korea 4-3 in their final match. The hockey squad narrowly missed out on a spot in Tokyo and were last in action at the Games in Rio 2016, where they had one win over Canada and finished 10th overall.
