Lee Cole made his international debut for Ireland in 2015. Since then the Monkstown HC club player has gone on to medal with the national side in the Euro Hockey Championship and FIH Series Final.
Cole was also a squad member for the World Cup in 2018 and the Paris Olympic qualifiers in Valencia. The defender scored a penalty stroke in a landmark 2-1 victory over Belgium in the Pro League in May this year, which was a first ever for the team. Cole is a key defender and one of the team's best drag-flickers at penalty corners and is also a first choice to take penalty strokes.
He works as an account executive for Personio, and coaches Monkstown’s Strikers, the club’s intellectual disability team.
