Daina Moorehouse qualified for Paris at the last chance qualification tournament for the Olympics in Bangkok at the start of June.

This came after missing out on securing her place in Italy in March and receiving a point deduction in the fight against a Bulgarian athlete, which the Bray woman eventually won 4-1 to secure her spot.

Moorehouse began boxing at Enniskerry Boxing Club when she was 11 alongside brother Michael. She went on to win her first National Elite title in 2019, in the same year winning a European Youth bronze.

Moorehouse represented Ireland at the 2023 European Games in Poland, where she progressed to the quarter-finals, this was the first competition that she moved up to and competed in the flyweight division, which she will box in in Paris.
