Sharlene Mawdsley is quickly becoming one of Ireland's most recognisable sports stars. Her relay performances, typically on the final anchor leg, have given Ireland a recent gold medal in the mixed and silver in the women's 4x400m relays at the European Championships in June of this year.
The Tipperary woman has significantly improved her individual event personal best over the last several years, running the automatic qualifying time for the Olympics in Poland in May of this year.
Mawdsley put in an impressive shift at last year's World Championships, running six 400m races throughout the event. With a role to play in both relay events and her individual 400m, Mawdsley will likely have a busy Olympic Games schedule in Paris.
