Lucy Rock has been named as captain for the women's sevens team in Paris. Rock comes from GAA, getting the player of the match award when Wicklow won the 2011 All-Ireland junior football final.
Rock made the switch to sevens rugby in 2015. She sustained a hamstring injury in the LA series that sidelined her for the remainder of the series. The Wicklow native made her XVs debut at the World Cup against Spain in 2021, and made her Six Nations debut in 2022 but was sidelined because of a head injury.
