Twenty-year-old Erin King was born in Sydney, Australia and lived abroad in Dubai and Doha with her family before returning to her parents' Wicklow roots as a teenager, beginning playing at Naas RFC.
King now plays for Old Belvedere RFC and made her sevens senior debut in 2021, scoring her first try for Ireland against Canada in Toulouse in 2022. She was also a member of the squad for the World Cup sevens squad in 2022. King, like several of the rugby sevens squad played inter-county football at minor level
The team qualified in May 2023 with a 10-5 win over Fiji in the fifth-place semi-final of the World Rugby Sevens Series. King played in the crucial match and has racked up 104 world series games in her career so far.
