Alanna Fitzpatrick

Name: Alanna Fitzpatrick

Event: Rugby sevens

Age: 19

A new addition to the sevens panel Alanna Fitzpatrick has been playing rugby since she was 15 and made her first senior sevens appearance in Hamburg in 2023 becoming the youngest player ever to play for Ireland at a senior level international. Fitzpatrick plays club rugby for Blackrock College RFC.

Alanna is a qualified personal trainer and is believed to be only the third Laois-born athlete to become an Olympian after rower Frank Moore and runner Anne Keenan Buckley.

The sevens side won their first world tournament at the SVNS Series Cup in Perth in January of this year which bodes well for momentum going into the Olympic Games.
