Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe has internationals caps in both XVs and sevens rugby. The Tipperary native began playing rugby aged 15 in Clanwilliam and comes from a sprint athletics background. Murphy Crowe made her senior sevens debut in 2014 and was called up to the XV squad in 2021 for the Six Nations, where she made her debut against France.

Murphy Crowe has gone on to be a top try scorer for the sevens team and a leading scorer in the series, scoring 197 tries in 228 match appearances in the SVNS series.

The team qualified in May 2023 with a 10-5 win over Fiji in the fifth-place semi-final of the World Rugby Sevens Series. Qualifying for an Olympics has been a long-fought battle for the women's side, narrowly missing out on qualification in the last two Olympic cycles.

The sevens side won their first world tournament at the SVNS Series Cup in Perth in January of this year which bodes well for momentum going into the Olympic Games.
