The Meath native began playing rugby in fifth year while attending King's Hospital School in Dublin and was talent identified at an IRFU sevens tournament. Kathy Baker progressed through the sevens pathway and made her senior debut at the Kitakyushu sevens in Japan.
The team qualified in May 2023 with a 10-5 win over Fiji in the fifth-place semi-final of the World Rugby Sevens Series. Baker was part of the squad that secured qualification in May last year and has come back from a bad knee injury to be in form for Paris.
