Natalie Long took up rowing while at university in the UK as a way of staying fit. Making her way up through the ranks she was able to row full-time in 2018 but sadly missed out on a place in the women's four in Tokyo due to injury. She rowed single sculls before earning her spot on the national team again in 2021.

The women's four boat qualified at the last chance regatta in Lucerne finishing first in the final.

Long rowed in a pair with Imogen Magner in the European Championships in 2023, where they finished 3rd in the 'B' final. Magner joins long as part of the women's four in Paris. Long was a member of the boat that won silver in the European Championships in 2022.

Long was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and has Irish grandparents, she moved to Cobh in 2007 where initially she took up coastal rowing. She began classic rowing while studying for a degree in diagnostic radiography in London.
