Name: Daire Lynch
Event: Rowing - Men's double scull
Age: 26
Daire Lynch of Clonmel Rowing Club makes his Olympic debut, rowing alongside Belfast Boat Club's Philip Doyle in the men's double sculls.
Lynch showed his grit and talent winning the National Championship single sculls in 2021, beating the O'Donovan and McCarthy brothers to the title.
Lynch attended Yale University from 2017-2022 where he studied economics. Since returning to Ireland and being paired with Doyle the duo finished fourth at the European Championships and third at the World Championships in 2023.
In June Lynch and Doyle won the final World Cup race before the Paris Games, which bodes well for their chances at the Games as they beat the French Olympic Champions.
