Name: Michaela Walsh
Event: Boxing - Featherweight (57kg)
Age: 31
A double medallist at the Commonwealth Games, Walsh qualified for her second Olympic Games at the European Games in Poland in 2023, winning a bronze medal.
Walsh has been moving up weights as she got older and won bronze as a bantamweight at the 2017 EU Games before moving up to featherweight to take bronze at the European Championships in 2018 and silver at the 2019 European Games.
Walsh and Olympic bronze medallist brother Aidan were the first brother and sister to box at an Olympic Games in Tokyo, they may now be aiming to be the first to win medals.
Walsh won a record 11th Irish Elite National Title, equalling Kellie Harrington's total set a few hours previously in October of last year. Securing a medal at the Games in Paris would put Walsh on a par with Ireland's greatest ever boxers.
