Name: Sarah Lavin
Event: 100m hurdles
Age: 30
Sarah Lavin secured qualification to her second Olympic Games by running the automatic qualifying time in Stockholm last summer. She then went on to break Derval O'Rourke's national record in the semi-final of the World Championships in Budapest.
Since her 32nd place finish at the Tokyo Games, Lavin has made five international finals. Most recently finishing seventh in the European Championships despite clipping the second hurdle. The Limerick native then bounced back 10 days later, running a season's best of 12.66 in the Paavo Nurmi Meeting in Finland.
Lavin spoke with RTÉ ahead of those European Championships on her medal ambitions for the summer ahead: "I think I'm running faster than I ever have before.
"There's a lot of women that are 36 that are Olympic champions and Olympic medallists now.
"I've been in a good few finals now at this point and obviously I'm looking to convert the fives and sixes and sevens to the other end of the top three," the national record holder said.
