Name: Sarah Healy
Event: 1500m
Age: 23
After a successful junior career - Healy won gold at the European Under-18 Championships in 1500m and 3000m in 2018 and claimed silver in the 1500m European Under-20 Championships in 2019 - the 23-year-old was struggling to make an impact at senior level.
A change of coaching set-up and move to Manchester resulted in the Dublin native setting two indoor national records within seven days at the start of this year. Healy then fell across the line in her heat at the World Indoor Championships, failing to make the final.
Healy has progressed even more in this outdoor season, after a slow start by her own admission she finished a promising seventh in the final of the European Championships in June and went second on the all-time Irish list for the 1500m in Paris, running a two-second personal best of 3:57.46 and beating national record holder Ciara Mageean in the process.
Healy is one of three Irish women to compete in the 1500m.
