Phil Healy was part of the women's 4x400m team that claimed silver in the European Championships in May. The Cork athlete contested three events in Tokyo, making the final of the mixed 4x400m.
Healy recently won the Irish Championships over 200m and was part of the women's 4x400m team that finished seventh in the final of the World Relays at the start of May.
Healy was fourth in the European Junior 100m final in 2013, was twice a 200m finalist at World Student Games, and made the European Semi-finals in 2018, before qualifying for her first Olympics in 2020 in both the 200m and 400m. The Bandon native opted out of the World Championships last summer and was later diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, but has made a strong return to form in 2024 and won her 17th Irish senior title last month.
