Name: Jordan Conroy
Event: Sevens rugby
Age: 30
A late comer to rugby, at the age of 18 with AIL side Tullamore, didn't hinder Jordan Conroy as he took naturally to the wing.
In what has been the best season on record for the sevens, Conroy has scored 17 tries in 39 matches, the third highest try scorer on the squad. In 2020 Conroy was the highest overall scorer in the World Series.
The Offaly man, who moved to Ireland from Germany as a 10-year-old, has recently opened up about his families experience of domestic violence as a child.
Conroy, named on the 2020 World Rugby Sevens Dream Team, was a keen runner and soccer player in his youth and was on the books at Athlone Town and played for St Patrick’s Athletic in the League of Ireland.
