Name: Philip Doyle

Event: Rowing - men's double sculls

Age: 29

Something of a latecomer to the sport, Doyle has certainly made his mark since entering the fray in 2014 while studying medicine at Queens University.

He first competed at the World Championships in 2018 and a year later won a silver medal alongside Ronan Byrne in the double sculls at the staging in Linz, Austria. With that came Tokyo qualification.

Also in 2019 the pair took home silver in the World Rowing Cup III in Rotterdam

Earlier this year it was the same colour medal for Doyle/Byrne at the World Rowing Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland.
