Finn, a 20-year-old from Carlow, is the youngest member of Ireland’s sailing team and he had been earmarked for Tokyo 2020, but his rapid recent progress means he will be making his Olympic debut four years earlier than many expected. He qualified while still a teen, seeing off competition from Belfast’s James Espey, a London 2012 veteran.
