Kilkenny's Mary Fitzgerald will be making her Paralympic debut in Tokyo and comes in to the competition in the form of her life.
Setting a new personal best record of 8.12m at the start of August, Fitzgerald will be full of optimism going into the games, knowing that throw would have been good enough for silver at Rio 2016.
Competing as a Para athlete since 2010, the Kilkenny woman made her international debut in 2014 and won three gold medals at the IWAS U23 World Junior Games in 2016. She also competed at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships and won bronze in February's European Para Athletics Championships.
