Kerry's Jordan Lee will be making his Paralympic debut in Tokyo. The 20-year-old earlier made his mark on the basketball court, becoming the first one-handed basketballer to represent their country.
A meeting with Jason Smyth at Paralympic Ireland Expo in 2016 prompted Lee to try out other sport. He settled on the high jump.
The Killarney native went on to take bronze in the event at the European Championships in 2018, and competed at subsequent Europeans in 2019 and '21. In the latter staging in Bydgoszcz, Poland, Lee jumped a championship record and season's best to finish fourth in very high quality T47 high jump competition.
